Asheville NC: April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and is being recognized in many ways.

Just a few statistics:

60% of rapes/sexual assaults are not reported to the police, according to statistical average of the past 5 years.  US Department of Justice 2005 National Crime Victimization Study 2005

1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before age 18. www.pcar.org
