Positively Living Remembers: Israel's Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day

Positively Living Remembers: Israel's Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day
by Leslie Godbold

This Monday morning Israel came to a stop, except for the sirens wailing for two minutes. Cars and buses stopped on the roads, Pedestrians stopped their busy lives to bow their heads, businesses shut down and television and radio programs were dedicated in the memory of the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust.

This Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day was dedicated by Israel,  for the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust. This marks 70 years since the Warsaw ghetto uprising. A symbol of Jewish resistance against the Nazis in World War II that resonates deeply in Israel to this day

The uprising in 1943, Warsaw ghetto, was  the single greatest act of Jewish resistance during the Holocaust. The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising became a symbol of struggle against impossible conditions and inspired other acts of uprising and underground resistance by Jews and non-Jews alike.

Notes: My love, respect and thoughts go to all Jews and their supporters on this Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day. May We never forget.......... Leslie Godbold
